Communication:
Many old installations are using a Modbus, RS442, RS485 or RS232 communication. Generally these connections are not well documented. But these are the cables on which a production line depends. In an avarage company almost nobody knows exactly what is being send.
We handle this problem by beginning with the source. We find out what the current situation is. What is still working and what is absolutely necessary. With these facts a plan is being made how to convert or replace these communications with a modern communication medium.
We have always been progressive by using open communication structures via open networks. Our experience learns that Profinet is a stable solution on which many suppliers connect.
Wireless:
If there is something in an installation that causes trouble than that is communication connection with slip ring bodies or conductor rails. Often this is a combination of power connections and communication signals. Especially the transfer of fast signal pulses is a source of jammings.
